Come & Sing

“The act of collective singing is known to have multiple benefits including the easing of stress and the promotion of wellbeing.”

At Grasmere Song, we’re pleased to invite local singers with a passion for choral music to explore traditional favourites and more unfamiliar repertoire with William Vann, Director of Music at Royal Hospital Chelsea, Dulwich Choral Society and Chorus Master at The Grange Festival.

Rehearsals will take place between 16:30 – 17:30 on Tues 18, Wed 19, Thurs 20 and Fri 21 August at St Mary’s Church Ambleside, culminating in a performance at the Friday evening concert, alongside students singing solo repertoire they have prepared during the course. Bursary students will also join the choir – a real coming together as part of the shared ethos of Grasmere Song. The performance will be in honour of Dame Janet Baker who will be attending the concert.

Participation in the Come & Sing will be free of charge, but we encourage singers to donate as they feel, which will be used for student bursaries. If you are not already a course participant, please email the course convenor warren@grasmeresong.co.uk, to register your interest, so that we know the numbers of singers in advance.

Choir repertoire to be announced, we will be able to provide a PDF copy of the music in advance upon request.
